[Phone; drone filter]
Well... looks like we're all going to have to do a little cutting back this Christmas. But you know, even if there's no power and not as much food, at least we've all still got a good, solid roof over our heads. If you look at it that way, the town's been a lot kinder to us for Christmas than they were for Thanksgiving. I'm sure this is nothing we can't weather if everybody pitches in and helps each other out. Maybe we can set up a food bank or some sort of shelter. It's times like these when a community really needs to come together, after all.
[Early evening; door to door]
[True to his earlier sentiment, Dad is going to pitch in and do his part to make sure his neighbors are at least able to have something to eat during these rough times. He's always been a firm believer in preparedness, and thank goodness, because by now he's built up quite a stock of cream pies. There's probably a few hundred of them safely captchalogued away in his trusty wallet modus, so he figures he can spare a few here and there to feed his hungry neighbors. Dad will be going around knocking on every door in town on the first day of the event, hoping to share the wealth.]
Knock knock, neighbor!

Date: 2011-12-13 10:03 pm (UTC)Come in, get out of the cold. I managed to make tea during the latest power hour.
[ Mr Egbert may or may not notice the family portrait in the hall having a familiar face. ]
I did indeed
Date: 2011-12-14 12:08 am (UTC)[Dad avails himself of the warmth, taking off his scarf and coat.]
I came by to bring you some pie. Well, you and the rest of the neighborhood, really.
[He's not carrying any, but he pulls out his wallet and is about to open it when he sees the portrait.]
Hey, that's my son John! So this is where Mayfield put him, then?

Next time you see John, throw it in his face. Make sure he knows it's from me, but I'm pretty sure he'll know without you having to say anything.

Date: 2011-12-26 11:28 pm (UTC)While I'd rather families could stay together here, Mayfield has other ideas. Is there anything I should know about John, like allergies and such?

He's allergic to peanuts.
