Well... looks like we're all going to have to do a little cutting back this Christmas.  But you know, even if there's no power and not as much food, at least we've all still got a good, solid roof over our heads.  If you look at it that way, the town's been a lot kinder to us for Christmas than they were for Thanksgiving.  I'm sure this is nothing we can't weather if everybody pitches in and helps each other out.  Maybe we can set up a food bank or some sort of shelter.  It's times like these when a community really needs to come together, after all.

[Early evening; door to door]

[True to his earlier sentiment, Dad is going to pitch in and do his part to make sure his neighbors are at least able to have something to eat during these rough times.  He's always been a firm believer in preparedness, and thank goodness, because by now he's built up quite a stock of cream pies.  There's probably a few hundred of them safely captchalogued away in his trusty wallet modus, so he figures he can spare a few here and there to feed his hungry neighbors.  Dad will be going around knocking on every door in town on the first day of the event, hoping to share the wealth.]

I suppose it probably looks that way, doesn't it? But no, it's just a fetch modus. Which is really just a fancy way of saying 'portable storage.'

There's different kinds, but I've always found the wallet to be the most reliable.

Huh? No, it doesn't need any batteries. It's just a wallet. You can buy them all over the place.

Well, it was kind of an expensive wallet. But yeah.

[Dad shrugs, folding the stack of pies back into a dozen or so captchalogue cards, tucking them into the wallet, and sticking it back in his pocket.]

I'm guessing they don't have this kind of thing where most people come from.
