1st Hat (Double Intro with [livejournal.com profile] pinkscarflady)

[Huh.  Well.  This is different.  Different, and yet somehow the same.  These aren't the clothes Dad went to sleep wearing, and this isn't the bed he went to sleep in, but this is definitely the person he went to sleep with.  Brow furrowed with concern, he shakes his head and slowly climbs out of bed to have a look around the room.  After a cursory glance, he determines that his hat and pipe are missing.  Distressing news indeed - every good dad knows you should never be without your hat and pipe.  Eventually, he returns to bedside, placing a hand on the woman's shoulder and attempting to gently rouse her out of what is surely a wine-induced slumber.]

Wake up.  Something's wrong here.

[Later on, once the two have gotten their bearings a bit and gotten dressed for the day, Dad and Mom can both be found in the kitchen around the breakfast table.  Dad is standing over the oven, wearing a 'Kiss the Cook' apron and frying up some eggs and bacon to start the day.  Toast is in the toaster, ready to go in a minute or two.  Mom, for her own part, can be found at the table drinking coffee.  Irish coffee, rather.  Heavy on the Irish.  It's more or less just coffee flavored liquor.  They haven't met the other housemates yet, but surely the scent of a delicious breakfast wafting through the air should be more than enough to lure them downstairs.]

[Action; around town]

[After a good hearty breakfast - or a good stiff drink, as the case may be - Dad and Mom can be found walking around Mayfield both together and separately.  They both seem to be rather calm about the whole thing, and by all accounts look to be taking their change of surroundings rather well.  After all, this is hardly the first time either of them has woken up in a different place with no prior warning.  Dad's managed to find a replacement hat and pipe, which he's thoughtfully smoking as he walks about, and Mom seems to already have a gin martini in her hand.  It's always five o'clock somewhere, as they say.]

((OOC: Feel free to catch them as they're exploring the town.  Please put in the subject line whether you want Dad, Mom, or both in the response.))

[Roused out of her slumber, Mom immediately notices two very important things. First, It would seem that she and Mr. Egbert have once again been displaced to unfamiliar surroundings. At least this time they aren't alone. And two, far more unusual, she's sober. She hasn't been entirely sober in quite some time. It's an odd feeling. She turns to him, a wry smile on her face.]

And here I thought we were finally getting the hang of this strange game.

action; both :|b

[ Today is Bro's day to dick around within the general vicinity of the tailor shop. Take a marker to nearby posters here and there, think to himself how absolutely unaffected by the giant bad trip of a weekend he was, and... not go into the shop because apparently he's supposed to work there and fuck that.

... huh. Such a fifties looking couple these two are. Must be drones. ]

'sup. Know where the next underground Commie meeting is gonna be or do I have to find that myself?

*And the young troll walking home - a bag full of freshly-bought clothes hanging from her shoulder - stops for a moment to look at these two humans.

Boy, they look awfully familiar, don't they? Where has she seen them before?*

Either; or both

[[Aaron's jogging and not paying attention.

He'll probably run into one of them, literally.]]

Oh... oops! Sorry, I was on my way to-...!

I mean... I am running late to class, I'm not skipping or anything.

[[Mistaking them for drones.]]

[So, Kenpachi's walking around town, trying to learn where everything is, when he comes across a guy who seems to be doing the same thing. Might as well say hi.]
Hey there.

[Mesousa is walking around town as well. Noticing the two walking towards him, he will climb down the curb into the street so that he isn't in their way. He weakly mumbles "Hello" as they pass.]

[Oh bluh bluh more human drones. Why's this one wandering around like that?

For that matter, why does Slick have the niggling feeling that this human is familiar? It's almost as though he met this man once before, in another universe, when he was Jack Noir instead of Spades Slick. Perhaps he may have considered this gentleman a worthy adversary, and one deserving of res-

Wait no that's stupid. Slick scowls at the human as he passes by and then goes back to reading the paper.]

Action; both is good

[After finally finding a place where she could purchase fabric, Dolorosa is walking home when she spots a couple walking in the opposite direction. Something about the man reminds her of one of the boys in her own household, but she thinks nothing of it chalking it up to humans kind of looking the same.]

[Since politeness is kind of her thing, she waves to the couple]
Good morning.

[Unaware of the changes, Rose is dragged down by the smell of food her drone parents usually didn't do. Well, her drone mother, since the father was a busy business man and women belonged to the kitchen, right honey?

So when she sees a male cooking, her head moves slightly to the side on surprise, only to realize that the man is not her drone father...and that right there is somebody who isn't her drone mother.

Ooooooh noooo you two were supposed to be dead.

What is the meaning of this?

[She actually whispered that, by the way.]

[ He must really be tired. It was getting a bit chilly after all, and John did stay up late fooling around with the radio. All of these previous actions could possibly have factored into a state of deliriousness and insanity.

Because that man was not his Dad. Nope. Not at all. Because his real Dad would be wearing his spiffy white business outfit. Anything other than that would have been preposterous, and most definitely a fake.

Of course. So moving along now... and rub the eyes while he was at it. This wasn't a nice topic to dwell on, so he'll just walk in the other direction...
